Astra Nova

Astra Nova is a third-person action RPG set in a dark fantasy world built around combat depth, vertical traversal, and atmospheric world-building. Play Fusion Labs owned the full production pipeline on Unreal Engine 5 - from core systems architecture through to release on Steam and Epic Games Store.

The combat foundation runs on the Tempest Combat Framework, with behavior trees driving enemy AI, distinct combat patterns per enemy type, and a locomotion system that handles clean transitions across movement, combat, and traversal states. Climbing and parkour were designed into the level architecture from day one - verticality is a gameplay mechanic, not decoration.

The narrative layer covers a full dialogue system, quest system, and progression system backed by a reliable savegame. A collectibles loop supports replayability and rewards exploration. On the art and content side, the team delivered level art, level design, environment design, character animation integration, and a complete SFX and VFX pipeline. UI/UX was built for immersion - functional and unobtrusive. Back-end architecture and Web3 integration were shipped as part of the final build, laying the groundwork for future in-game economy features.
